Sedlec Ossuary

Recently went to Sedlec Ossuary, aslo known as the “Bone Church” which is a church of bones, decorated with 40,000 human skeletons and is located outside of Prague, Czech Republic. Unfortanately, the day we went the church was closed and we couldn’t get in. We could peek in some windows and walk the grounds though. I couldn’t pass up this opportunity to shoot some scary video. This place was creepy. You can see a virtual tour of the church here: 360cities.net/image/kutna-hora-inside-bone-chapel-czech-republic

Going Home

Was flying back from Europe after spending Christmas with my wife’s family in Prague and had some time to kill.  I had my Canon HV30 with me and couldn’t resist getting a bit creative to past the time.  I am still amazed at what you can get out of the Canon HV30.

Edited in Premiere Pro CS4 with a little Magic Bullet Looks.

13 Days of Christmas

A good friend of mine came to me with an idea of doing a toy drive for the 2009 Christmas season through his retail store.  We designed a video campaign that we would blast out online using social media to get the word out.  The above video outlines the campaign.  I also did daily promotional videos that would be released one per day for the first 15 days of December 2009 that gave a discount on a specific daily product.  Overall it was a pretty successful campaign.  The total amount of toys that were donated were over 900.

Zach Sheeran – Stand Up Paddleboard

Caught up with a friend, Zach Sheeran, on Halloween at 25th Avenue on Isle of Palms for a little stand up paddleboard video session on Saturday. This video makes me realize how shotty the tripod I have been using really is with the XH-A1. It works great with my HV30 but can’t quite cut it with a heavier camera.

If you notice, there’s a GoPro camera mounted on the front of the paddleboard.  We had talked about editing the footage from my camera and his GoPro together. Unfortunately, it’s only the standard definition one so in order to edit the footage with what was coming out of the XH-A1 we would have to down convert the HD to SD.  Can’t wait for the GoPro HD to get our hands on some GoPro HD versions.

First Time Lapse

So, I had a 2 hour hole in my schedule today so I grabbed my Nikon D80 and headed for the the Arthur Ravenel Bridge and did some experimenting with time lapse photography. This is the result of 1050 pictures shot 2 seconds apart and edited together.

Assembled using Quicktime Pro. Final edit in Premiere Pro CS4 with Magic Bullet Looks.

UPDATE: Oops! it says D90 in the video but it was shot on a D80. Sorry, I’ve been looking at too many new cameras lately and the model numbers are starting to run together.
